Atty Aida Garcia, Lawyer and Registered Migration Agent, will be awarded as one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award by the Filipina Women’s Network (FWN). The gala awards celebratory dinner and ceremony will be held on October 7, 2014 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Philippines as part of the 11th Filipina Leadership Global Summit.

In a statement, Garcia said she is truly honored to be inducted into the premiere group of FWN’s Global100 Awardees and to accept FWN’s 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award for her professional work and civic engagement in the Filipino community. “The award recognises my deep passion and commitment to build and maintain, adjust, repair, and re-align what is envisaged as a broken organisation into a better and stronger Filipino communities in diaspora,” said the current President of the Filipino Community Council of Australia (FILCCA), the peak umbrella body of all Filipino organisations in Australia.

“I am proud to be honored by an organisation so relentlessly dedicated to such integral work for our community. I will be one of 100 awardees worldwide who have been asked to FEMtor a protégée so we can double the number of Filipina global leaders. With FWN’s leadership, I am hoping my work will encourage a young Filipina to aspire. I intend to contribute my own talents in building the future of our community, femtor next generation leaders, and partner in developing strategies on how to include Filipina voices in global policy and decisions being made at corporate tables,” she added.

The 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award recognises Filipina women who are influencing the face of leadership in the global workplace, having reached status for outstanding work in their respective fields and are recognized for their leadership, achievement and contributions to society, FEMtorship and legacy.

“The Global FWN100 women are dynamic entrepreneurs, rising stars under age 35, practitioners, community leaders and executives who have moved through the ranks in large organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies. They are powerful examples of women doing extraordinary work who will motivate our youth and future leaders,” said Thelma Boac, Chair of the Global FWN100™ Worldwide Search and Selection Committee. “They were selected based on the size and scope of their positions, influence in their industries and their communities, board affiliations and other leadership roles. Nominations were received from 16 countries.”

The 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World Award™ is a working recognition award, a Pinay Power 2020 dream with a meaningful purpose: a Filipina woman leader in every sector of the global economy by 2020. The awardees are asked to femtor a young Filipina through the FEMtorship program and attend the Filipina Leadership Summit on October 5-8, 2014 in the Philippines at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

“The Global FWN100™ Awards is the heart of FWN’s Filipina Global Power 2020 Vision: build the Filipina community’s pipeline of qualified leaders to increase the odds that some will rise to the “president” position in all industry sectors worldwide, ” added Marily Mondejar, FWN’s CEO and Founder. “Quite a number of Filipina women have migrated all over the world to seek some form of leadership and economic empowerment – their collective stories of how they disrupted their professional and personal lives will be the largest recorded diaspora in modern times.”
