The Earth Hour 2017 is set on 25 March.

Everyone is encouraged to turn off their lights for an hour, from 8:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. as a symbolic action to raise awareness about the threats of climate change.

Since the campaign was launched in Australia in 2007, the Philippines has been consistently at the forefront of the campaign and was dubbed as an Earth Hour champion for several years.

For ten years now, what started as an Australian initiative has grown into the world’s biggest movement for climate change.

The World Wide Fund for Nature-Philippines, the organiser of Earth Hour in the Philippines, encourages participants to join the event which has the theme “This Earth Hour, Shine a Light on Climate Action”.

Through the use of social media, participants can tweet or post their best photos on that day, along with official hashtags #EarthHourPH2017 and #ChangeClimateChange.

On Saturday, 25th March, switch off to support progress for the next generation. Switch off to #JoinTheFuture.
