The Australian Multicultural Senior Support Group (AMSSG) dancers performed at the “Mayor’s Family Picnic” at Carrum Downs Recreation Reserve on 13 September 2014. Frankston City Mayor Cr Darrel Taylor spoke to every one and obliged to people’s request for photo opportunities. It was a big day for everyone with free activities, face painting and entertainment that suit all ages. It was a sunny day, and picnic baskets and summer umbrellas were put up.

AMSSG President elect Fe Gillies and her treasurer Cristy Maxwell received a grant from Frankston City Council. AMSSG applied for the grant and was approved, the amount of which will help the group in the purchase of IT equipment. Overall, the Community Grant assists community groups for a broad range of community development programs, services and activities.

The Mayor’s Family Picnic is held every year and Mayor Darrel Taylor said that it will be held in different places around the area.
