LEGENDARY cue master Francisco “Django” Bustamante fulfilled his dream of becoming a world 9-Ball champion after trouncing Taiwanese Kuo Po-cheng, 13-7, and ruled the 2010 World Pool Championships (World 9-Ball) held at the Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation Hall in Doha. “It’s a dream come true. I’ve been waiting this for so long and finally I made it this time,” said the Tarlac City native.
Bustamante took home a whopping $36,000 top purse while Kuo settled for $18,000 runner-up prize in the tournament sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiards Association.
On their way to the finals, Bustamante clobbered compatriot Antonio Lining, 11-5, while Kuo hurdled past former world champion Johnny Archer of the United States, 11-10.
