Hi everyone, this is Serenka Bralesika for the Philippine Times and I'm here with Captain
0:04
Tee of the Filipinas women's soccer team. So Tee, how are you feeling
0:10
What's all prepped and ready to go for the upcoming games in Perth
0:15
Yeah, I'm glad that we were able to get this little extra training camp before we head
0:21
over to Perth for qualifiers next week. I think the team's feeling good
0:27
We got some good training sessions in and we'll meet the rest of the team over in Perth
0:31
on Sunday. Amazing. And how did you feel about, I guess, the change of venue to Optus, to a bigger stage, especially
0:42
for the Matildas game? So is it a good thing for women in sports in general and what's your take on it, that
0:51
there's such a worldwide interest, not just in the Philippines, but women's sports in general
0:58
Yeah, I think it's amazing that our game against Australia got moved to Optus
1:03
I think it's just a testament to how impactful the World Cup was just a handful of months ago
1:11
They obviously didn't anticipate to have that many fans, especially just for round two of
1:18
Olympic qualifiers. And to see that there's been about 50,000 tickets sold now, it's overwhelming, but it's
1:29
such a good thing for women's sports right now and especially football
1:34
And it's really great to see and I think it'll only continue to get bigger and better and
1:43
hopefully the investment in women's sports just continues to grow as well
1:49
And a lot of young girls, not just Filipinos, are looking up to you personally
1:58
So what would be your message to them? If they see you on the field, they see Serena on the field, they see Hailey on the field
2:05
just representing, what would be your personal message to those young girls watching now
2:14
Just stay in the game. Keep playing, keep working hard. If you can see yourself out there, then you can be it, you can do it
2:25
And we need to keep the game increasing and getting bigger so it's not just us that needs
2:34
to keep it alive, it's the young girls now too. So we need people to stay in the game and not even playing, but coaching and just working
2:44
in sports, in football. In the industry. Yeah, in the industry. The more women we have in the industry, the better
2:52
So I would just say. Awesome. Now on the lighter stuff, what is your favorite Filipino food that you can't live without
3:05
I'm so basic. I'm so simple, but I could live on pancit
3:10
All day, every day. All day, every day. I'm really good. Noodles, noodles, pancit, all day, every day
3:14
And then one final thing, Tee. What makes you Filipino? Aside from obviously your mom, duh, but what makes you, like, traits, like, do you identify
3:26
the most with? All the intangible stuff. The pusho, the heart, the work ethic, the resilience, and just loving, loving the game
3:38
And loving it. I think, you know, in the short time that I've known you, I've seen you play, it's all
3:43
about, I guess, to your point, the resilience and just being that Filipino fighter
3:48
You know, we don't give up. We want to represent, but more importantly, we play with all hearts
3:54
So good luck, guys. And come, if you can, to Opta Stadium
3:59
They've got a few games happening. Chinese Taipei. Right? Chinese Taipei first. Yep
4:05
And when is that? The 26th, I believe. Okay. And then on the 9th, with the Matildas, and lastly, with Iran on the 1st, I believe
4:13
The 1st of November. So we'll make sure to, you know, keep you posted
4:17
And once again, Captain T of the Filipinas women's football team. So maraming salamat
4:24
