Celebrating Living in Victoria

The Philippine Festival 2019 – Celebrating Living in Victoria held on 24 March 2019 is the first free outdoor event in Queen Victoria Market (QVM) that was organised by a group of Filipino-Australians headed by Noel Tolentino, George Gregorio of Pamana Australia, Roy Carbungco of Pampangueno Club of Victoria, and Ed Guevarra.

The venue recorded over 30,000 attendees turned up to experience Filipino food and entertainment on a sunny autumn afternoon.

The mood was festive although there were complaints of long queues on some food stalls.

“The Market was absolutely packed, I think it was an amazing festival,” a QVM staff member said.

“I went with a couple of my friends and they commented that the queue for food stalls was too long, maybe 1 or 2 more food stalls next year?” he added.

George Gregorio captured the mood of the event in stills.
