As part of its continuing advocacy to save Mother Earth, the Triskelion International of Victoria Australia Inc. (TIVAI) participated in the National Tree Day, Australia’s largest community tree-planting and nature care event.

This year’s event was held along Dohertys Road and Grieve Parade in Altona North, Victoria on 28th July 2019.

Each year, hundreds of people volunteer their time to plant seedlings and restore thousands of hectares of the Australian landscape. Tree Day would not be possible without the people and the groups who volunteer to create a greener Australia.

The TIVAI members spearheaded by their Chairman Louie Sarte and Vice-Chairman Amboy Domingo, alongside family and friends, dug up the ground and helped plant 2,600 trees that would definitely benefit the great cause of preserving the environment.

Triskelion International of Victoria Inc. collaborated with Friends of Lower Kororoit Creek Inc (FOLKC) under the leadership of its president, Mr Geoffrey Mitchelmore and Mr Andrew Webster, Senior Conservation Ranger of Hobsons Bay City Council.

It was a fun and enjoyable event for the participants who received free shirts and water with entertainment show, face painting and sausage sizzles providing encouragement for the hard work. The sunny weather condition added to the success of the event.

FOLKC, the event’s major sponsors were present at the scene along with Planet Ark, City of Hobsons Bay, Melbourne Water, Toyota Australia and Altona Lions Club.

TIVAI would like to thank everyone who participated and volunteered their time for this wonderful cause. Hope to see you all again next year. Let’s make Australia Green again!
