Glory to God in the highest: and on earth peace to men of good will (Luke 2:14).

Jesus’ coming on earth, wrapped in human flesh, is to inaugurate peace among God’s people. By peace, I mean not only the absence of conflict and animosity, but also the presence of joyful tranquility and trustful spirit.

As we celebrate the season of Christmas, we are invited to re-examine ourselves how we contributed in bringing peace into this world. If we failed. Then, let us re-commit ourselves to work even harder to spread peace.

Especially on this particular time, the very land, the earthly home of Jesus, is once again struck by violence, hatred and death.

In prayer, we join our hands and hearts. We pray to Jesus, our only Peace and Light of the nations, to put an end to the spiral of terror and suffering in the Holy Land and in other parts of the world. Let peace, love and justice reign in our land.

We wish to welcome Jesus in our hearts, full of repentance and expectant hope. To be the centre of all our human affairs, as He once involved in the struggles of life and human sufferings.

We accept the challenge to become instruments of Peace. Lord Jesus, give us the grace of strength, courage and wisdom. Lead us to the new way of life. Your life of peace.

Gratitude for being the “Emmanuel”, God-is-with us!

Indeed, the people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned…. For unto us a child is born (Isaiah 9: 1, 6).

Maligayang Pasko po sa inyong lahat!
