Melbourne-based Filipino-Australian artist, Czarina Lapus is inviting the Filipino community and their friends to attend a fundraising event titled, “Art for Wanderlust: A Cause” on 13 November 2014, 6pm at the Royal Melbourne Hotel, 629 Bourke st, Melbourne. Proceeds will go to Gawad Kalinga, a poverty alleviation and nation-building movement based in the Philippines with chapters in various countries like Australia.

“The event night will be a good combination of art, photography and music,” Czarina told The Philippine Times. She is appealing to individuals who are passionate about travel, art, culture and “making a difference” to attend the event.

“On the night, we will be exhibiting artwork donated by local and international photographers, visual artists and ordinary people as well as an amazing line up of DJs who will be spinning great music throughout the night. Other than exhibiting pieces, we will also be holding and auction for the art work as well as selling selected pieces. We have major prize giveaways and we will be selling merchandise where all proceeds will go towards GK.
