Kayla Radam is living her dream, performing and travelling the world. Kayla is half Filipino and half British and born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. She has solid credentials both in terms of education and engagements in theatre and in film.
Kayla studied at Patrick Studios Australia where she completed a Full-Time Professional Development Program in Performing Arts. She trained in all disciplines of dance and attended musical theatre master classes as well as regular voice assessments. She also studied basic acrobats.
She became a student of award-winning choreographer Andrew Hallsworth, a 2014 and 2015 Helpmann awardee for best choreography. Yvette Lee, recognised for her work in choreography, creative direction and creative production, has also mentored the young Kayla. Â
On top of her impressive mentorship record, Kayla has 10 years of professional dancing experience tucked under her belt, even as she has already started dancing as early as when she was 5 years old.
Currently, Kayla works as inaugural Dance Captain for Royal Carribean’s Harmony of the Seas. She stars as Cha Cha in a David Ian Production of Grease, the Musical.
She worked with West End Director Jason Capewell in productions such as Sunset Boulevard, UK and international tours, Chicago Singapore, The Bodyguard South Korea and Priscilla Queen of the Desert (UK and international tours) and choreographer Chris Baldock for the award-winning Ant and Dec Takeaway Arena Tour.
During one of Harmony’s Charter Cruises, the Grease cast got to perform two iconic numbers from the show behind Australia’s Olivia Newton-John.
Kayla also performs as ensemble and aerialist in Columbus the Musical, an original Royal Caribbean Production, written and directed by Loren Van Brenk and choreography by Racky Plews. She has also performed onboard Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas as Chicago the musical.
Before her career with Royal Caribbean, Kayla performed in the Melbourne and Sydney season of The Boy from Oz with The Production Company. She was also ensemble in the Melbourne production of The King and I, also for The Production Company starring award-winning actress Silvie Paladino.Â
In 2017, Kayla made her film debut as a featured dancer in the live-action version of the Disney animation Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson. She appears in the credits as a ‘Debutante’.
