Faithful Transition: Filipino Catholic Couple Embrace New Chapter Online

In Melbourne’s suburb of Pakenham in Victoria, Rachel and Joseph Granada, a charming couple, have been the heart and soul of Our Lady of Good Success Catholic Traders, a unique haven for traditional Catholic books and religious items. What sets them apart is not just their dedication to their business but also the fact that they are the only Filipino couple engaged in this sacred trade in Australia.

For years, parishioners at the Corpus Christi Church in Tynong; Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and St. Andrew’s Church in Hampton, and the Child Jesus and St. Joseph Church in Rockdale, New South Wales, have come to rely on Rachel and Joseph for a curated selection of religious literature, sacramentals, and cherished items. Their stall has been more than a point of purchase; it’s been a meeting place for the community, a source of spiritual nourishment.

Rachel, with his warm demeanor and knowledge of the Catholic faith, has been the face of Our Lady of Good Success Catholic Traders. Her passion for sharing the Rachelness of the Catholic tradition has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she served. One of the testimonials from a satisfied customer reflects this sentiment: “Rachel’s guidance in choosing the right spiritual reading has been light on many’s Catholic faith journeys. Her commitment to this business is truly a gift to our community.”

However, after 17 years of providing the piety stall at St. Joseph Church in Rockdale, Rachel has decided to step back. It’s a poignant moment for the community, marking the end of an era. Yet, Rachel and Joseph are not saying goodbye but embarking on a new journey.

Focusing on the digital landscape, Rachel and Joseph are launching www.ologgsct.com, a website that extends the reach of Our Lady of Good Success Catholic Traders beyond the physical boundaries of the parishes. This shift to an online platform ensures continuity and opens new avenues to share the beauty of the Catholic faith with a wider audience.

As Rachel steps back from the piety stall, the legacy of Our Lady of Good Success Catholic Traders lives on. The Granada couple’s commitment to fostering spiritual growth transcends the tangible, reaching into the digital realm, where their passion for the Catholic tradition shines brightly.
