Filipina to vie for Miss Latina Australia 2015

This year, E&E Events Management is the host for Miss Latina Australia 2015, a contest that will see one Australian with a Latina decent represent Australia on the international stage at the Miss América Latina del Mundo, known in English as the Miss Latin America of the World.

“We have so many gorgeous and talented Latinas in Australia. Over the past few months we have been scouting around Australia for the most beautiful girls who are all deserving in representing Australia,” says Estela Tapia, National Director of Miss Latina Australia 2015.

One Melbourne woman vying for the title is Melbourne girl, Eva Giollo, a 25-year-old registered nurse who graduated from Deakin University.

Born in Australia, Eva’s father is Argentinian and her mother, Eva Giollo is from Pasay City in Manila. Her family is very passionate about their Spanish roots, but as a child, her mother has always insisted that she learned to speak Filipino and that she understands her Filipino heritage.

Eva hasn’t done much modelling prior to Miss Latina Australia 2015 but hopes to participate in more catwalk runways and photo shoots in the near future.

“I have the absolute privilege of representing both the Filipino and Latino community. Winning Miss Latina Australia will enable me to reach out to a wide range of people all over Australia and show them what a Filipina Latina is all about. Yes it’s a celebration of beauty but it is also an effective means of campaigning for social awareness that needs attention,” says Eva.

Gary Lee, Managing Director of the Pageant says that “Miss Latina Australia 2015 is a great platform to empower intelligent, passionate and talented young girls to make a mark for themselves. Through this contest they will make some amazing networks, connections and life-long friendships.”

Eva will compete for the title of Miss Latina Australia 2015 on Saturday 13 June 2015. The Winner will then represent Australia in Mexico in September 2015.
