Filipino-Australian duo Timba and JDP bring ‘HTWYL’ to streaming platforms

The excitable energy on ‘HTWYL’ speaks for the true charisma shared between Timba and JDP and features production from fellow Sydney-based Filipino-Australian Christian Joseph – creating a triple threat of sorts. The outcome is a summary retro record inspired by the likes of Doja Cat and SZA whilst beneath the playful melodies and pop nuances – introspective storytelling about trust takes place.

The track was written by Christian Joseph Sangalang, Jaemie Dela Pena, Max Tomasi Hill and Timothy Bautista.

Timba made groundbreaking progress in 2021 and early 2022 after a string of successful releases in Catch A Vibe and Issa Vibe. The hard work has earnt Timba nods of approval from credible tastemakers ComplexAU, HipHopDXAsia, Wish USA and The Philippine Times.

Simultaneously, JDP rose to TikTok stardom with her alter ego TinTin Adobo, a personality that carried the traits of a Filipina woman living in modern Australian culture. Similar comedic flares can be cited in the new found artist alter ego that is JDP – who continues to carry the Filipina torch with the newly added talent of musicianship. JDP has been featured on Wish USA and The Philippine Times.
