Filipino-Australian Model Kate Isabella Basso Fronts Australian Bridal Label at New York Bridal Market

18-year-old Filipino-Australian model Kate Isabella Basso has been chosen as the face of Belluccio as the luxury bridal label unveils its new brand identity — Julie Sufi Bridal — at the prestigious One Fine Day Bridal Market (OFDBM) in New York.

Held from October 14–16, 2025, at Canoe Studios, New York City, the trade-only event is part of New York Bridal Fashion Week and brings together leading bridal designers, buyers, and boutique owners from around the world. Unlike a traditional runway show, OFDBM offers an intimate, boutique setting where designers personally showcase their latest collections to buyers and media, with a focus on craftsmanship, sustainability and design innovation.

Kate’s participation marks a proud moment for both Australia and the Filipino community, as she represents an Australian label on one of the world’s most influential bridal industry stages. The collaboration highlights her growing presence in international modelling circles — bridging creativity, culture, and representation.

The event concludes with a “Fun Day” on October 17, where designers and models take part in outdoor photoshoots across iconic New York streetscapes, celebrating global artistry and the business of bridal fashion.

Now in its 10th year since launching in 2015, the One Fine Day Bridal Market is recognised as a premier destination for the world’s top bridal houses, held twice annually in May and October. This season, only two designers from Australia are among the global lineup — including Besse Bessana, a Filipino designer now based in New York, further showcasing Filipino creativity on the world stage.

From Melbourne to New York, Kate Isabella Basso’s appearance at the Bridal Market signals the emergence of a new generation of Filipino-Australian talent making their mark in international fashion.
