Filipinos in Hobart celebrate Paskuhan Fiesta

Must read

It was a lovely day for the Paskuhan Fiesta sa Tassie 2023 organised by the Philippines-Australia Community of Tasmania Inc (PACT), held on Saturday, 2 December at the Montrose Bay Yacht Club in Rosetta, Tasmania.

The event featured food stalls offering delicious Filipino food, groceries and a garden stall by Lucas Garden. There is no fiesta without lechon—the Lechon is Life stall was a hit! There were several activities for both children and adults, including the Malong dance by Annaliza Correa, a karaoke singing contest and a TikTok dance competition.

The Philippine Honorary Consul of Tasmania, Richard Van Neutegem and his wife attended the event.

The Christmas spirit was indeed alive. Santa handed out presents to the kids while all the organisers from PACT, volunteers sang “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Feliz Navidad”, and 24 hampers and gift cards donated by generous sponsors were raffled.
