Kadasig to hold fundraising dinner to help Filipino children

Kadasig Aid and Development will hold a fundraising dinner for Fr. Shay Cullen on 21 October, 7pm at Jorg Restaurant at 203 St Georges Road in Fitzroy North. Dinner is at $45 for a two-course meal. There will be raffle on the night.

A Columban priest based in Olongapo, Philippines, Fr. Shay Cullen is extremely active in the areas of human trafficking particularly of children, children caught up in the sex industry, saving children from jails and developing Fairtrade projects for farmers to sell their fruit at a fair price. Kadasig Aid and Development is a Victorian voluntary group, based in the north eastern suburbs of Melbourne, which works to improve life for children and families in the Philippines. Local primary schools and communities, including St Francis Xavier (Montmorency), Holy Trinity (Eltham North), St Kevin’s (Lower Templestowe) and St Gregory’s (Doncaster) are part of Kadasig’s Friendship School Program and are among many who support the group and are involved in the non-profit organisation.
