Partnering with Times Education, Filipino boxing legend, entrepreneur, and Senator Manny Pacquiao has revealed a new chapter in his storied career: the Manny Pacquiao Sports and Business College. “Australia has always shown incredible passion and talent for sports,” said Pacquiao. “By working with Times Education I will be able to help athletes succeed not only in the ring but in the business world.”
“Manny has always been passionate about helping his fellow Filipinos and provide a better future for them. So it made sense to launch this project with the future of all Filipinos in mind. It is always about giving back to the community” Marcelle Marcelino, Times Education partner opines, in an exclusive interview with Philtimes.
Speaking of giving back, the school is in talks with Cebu Normal University for potential scholarships as well as avenues wherein Filipino students are able to avail of the established network Times already has.
Scheduled to open in Australia in 2025, the Manny Pacquiao Sports and Business College aims to provide a point of difference by equipping students with a well rounded skill set to excel in both sports and business. “We have plans to have guest lecturers as well as bringing onboard Manny’s trainers to be part of the school. We are confident that this will provide students with real-world insights. And provide the same training they provided the champ.” Marcelino states.
Offering an integrated curriculum combining sports enterprise management, talent development, and an insider’s look into the sports industry. “Students will also have the unique opportunity to train and build the physical and mental resilience required to compete on a global level.”
The college will open its doors with programs ranging from Certificate IV to Graduate Diplomas in multiple learning sectors, all of which are recognised by the Australian Government’s Department of Education. The college will focus on major sports inclusive of boxing, tennis, basketball and fitness.
Blending Pacquiao’s wealth of experience and insight with Times Education’s expertise, the college seeks to create an unparalleled experience for students.
“We believe this college will cultivate a new level of sporting talent, and we are thrilled to have Manny lead the project. He knows what it means to start from zero, selling cigarettes on the streets until he became the champion he is today. He is one of the best in the world, and his mental resilience and business insight inspire us all.” Marcelino declares.
With the Manny Pacquiao Sports and Business College set to open in 2025, Pacquiao continues to be a force to be reckoned with. He is broadening his impact on a global scale and may soon be making stops in major Australian cities to promote the project and explore personal ventures.
