Mexico’s Jimena Navarete was crowned as Miss Universe 2010 held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas yesterday.

Miss Jamaica Yendi Philipps was the first runner-up, Completing the top five were Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell (2nd runner-up), Miss Ukraine Anna Poslavska (3rd runner-up) and Miss Philippines Venus Raj (4th runner-up).

Navarrete received the Miss Universe crown from Venezuela’s Stefania Fernandez, last year’s pageant winner.

83 countries contested for the title of Miss Universe, now in its 59th year.
