Michael Learns To Rock to perform first Australian tour in 2026

Danish soft rock band Michael Learns To Rock (MLTR) will perform in Australia for the first time as part of their Take Us To Your Heart Tour in February 2026, presented by TEG Live.

The tour begins at Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on Friday, 13 February, continues to Darling Harbour Theatre in Sydney on Saturday, 14 February, and wraps up at The Star Gold Coast on Sunday, 15 February.

Tickets will be available through a presale beginning Thursday, 18 September at 10am, with general public sales starting Friday, 19 September at 10am (local time).

A band with a Filipino following

Since their debut in 1988, MLTR has become one of the most enduring Western bands in Asia. Their romantic ballads, such as 25 Minutes, Sleeping Child, and That’s Why (You Go Away), have been staples at Filipino gatherings, karaoke nights, and weddings. For many Filipino fans, their songs remain a soundtrack of love and nostalgia.

Globally, the band has sold more than 11 million albums, recorded over 1.5 billion streams, and built a community of over four million followers across social media platforms. Their single Take Me To Your Heart alone has reached nearly 600 million streams in Asia, with the album selling over 275,000 copies in China, cementing its place as one of the best-selling international albums in the country.

A global touring record

The trio—Jascha Richter (vocals, keyboards), Kåre Wanscher (drums), and Mikkel Lentz (guitar)—have performed more than 1,000 concerts worldwide. In 2022, they played to a record-breaking 110,000 fans in India, marking the largest concert of their career. Most recently, in August 2025, the band completed their long-awaited North American debut tour before announcing their Australian shows.
