NZ chanteuse named Global Pinoy Singing Idol 2013

The singing voice which enthralled the global Filipino community belongs to Ms Jayvee Lagunda, an IT professional global singing idolfrom Auckland, New Zealand (NZ) and the 2013 Global Pinoy Singing Idol. Jayvee bested other finalists from different regions such as San Francisco and Virginia, USA, Australia, and Korea in a showdown held in Manila on 13 January 2013. She brought a cash prize of $2,500.

Lagunda won the bid to represent the NZ Filipino community when she won the NZ TFC Kat Title, and competed in the TFC Kat Grand Finals with other winners from Australian cities such as Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Darwin. She landed 2nd runner up and made her way to the DZMM World Caravan Global Pinoy Singing Idol in Manila.

Her winning song was Natutulog Ba ang Diyos, a version popularised by Lani Misalucha.

Her singing talent is known to many. As a matter of fact, she sang the Philippine National Anthem during the recent state visit of President Benigno Aquino III to New Zealand.

Jayvee is now preparing herself for the tough Voice of the Philippines competition. According to her, her sister coaches her techniques and other important aspects for her performance and continues to pray hard for her success.
