The Philippines–Australia Community of Tasmania Inc. (PACT Inc.) is set to celebrate its 50th founding anniversary with a Grand Gala Night on Saturday, 20 June 2026, at the Grand Tasman Hall of Wrest Point Casino in Sandy Bay, Hobart.
Founded in 1976, PACT Inc. is one of the long-standing Filipino community organisations in Tasmania, bringing together generations of Filipino–Australians through cultural activities, community programs and social events over the past five decades.
The anniversary celebration is expected to gather community leaders, former officers, members, families and supporters to mark the organisation’s milestone year.
The evening will begin with a red-carpet reception at 4:00 PM, followed by a program recognising individuals and community leaders who have contributed to the growth and development of PACT Inc. over the years.

Former presidents of the organisation are also expected to be acknowledged during the event in recognition of their leadership and service to the Filipino community in Tasmania.
Guests will also be treated to cultural and live performances highlighting Filipino heritage, music and traditions, reflecting the continuing connection of Filipino–Australians to their roots while embracing life in Australia.
PACT Inc. said the celebration is not only about looking back on the organisation’s history, but also recognising the role of community organisations in helping Filipino migrants and families build friendships, support networks and a sense of belonging in Tasmania.
For many members of the Filipino community, organisations such as PACT Inc. have become an important part of preserving Filipino culture and strengthening ties between Filipinos and the wider Australian community.
As PACT Inc. marks its golden anniversary, the organisation hopes the celebration will also inspire younger generations to continue supporting community initiatives and cultural programs in the years ahead.

Joey Ramirez, president of PACT Inc., said the milestone celebration is an opportunity to honour the organisation’s past while looking forward to its future in the Filipino–Australian community in Tasmania.
