PAL’s A330 Aircraft Return to Sydney and Melbourne Routes

Must read

Filipinos travelling between the Philippines and Australia can now look forward to a more comfortable journey as Philippine Airlines (PAL) brings back its signature Airbus A330-300 aircraft to its Sydney and Melbourne routes. This redeployment marks a new chapter in the airline’s longstanding commitment to serving travellers between the two countries.

Since 1 January 2025, PAL’s A330-300s have been flying on the five weekly Melbourne-Manila flights. Starting 2 February, the same aircraft will also operate daily flights on the Sydney-Manila route. These A330s replace the two A330-200s that PAL temporarily leased from European charter carrier Wamos Air, an arrangement that concluded in late 2024.

Enhanced comfort and entertainment onboard

The tri-class A330-300 offers a more refined flying experience. Travellers can choose from Economy, Premium Economy, or Business Class, with the Premium Economy cabin providing an added level of comfort and privacy. The inflight entertainment system, featuring RAVE audio-video-on-demand, ensures that passengers across all cabins have access to over 300 hours of movies, TV shows, and music to make their journey enjoyable.

PAL’s commitment to world-class service is evident in its highly trained Filipino pilots and flight attendants. Known for their warmth and professionalism, the crew embodies PAL’s signature “Buong Pusong Alaga” (“wholehearted care”), offering passengers a uniquely Filipino brand of hospitality.

A robust network for Australian travellers

PAL continues to strengthen its connection between the Philippines and Australia, operating 22 weekly nonstop flights from four major Australian cities. While the new A330-300 arrangement is exclusive to the Sydney and Melbourne routes, daily flights from Brisbane and three weekly flights from Perth remain available, utilising the efficient Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Through Manila, passengers can easily connect to popular Philippine destinations like Cebu, Davao, Boracay, and Puerto Princesa, as well as to key international hubs such as Bangkok, Tokyo, and Seoul.

A milestone in Philippine-Australian travel

This year, PAL celebrates 60 years of service between the Philippines and Australia. Since launching its first flights in 1965, the airline has remained a vital bridge for families, tourists, and business travellers. Over the decades, PAL has expanded its network and upgraded its fleet, continually improving its offerings to meet the needs of its passengers.

As Philippine Airlines commemorates this milestone, the return of its A330-300 aircraft to the Sydney and Melbourne routes is a testament to its dedication to delivering a superior travel experience. For Filipinos in Australia and Australian travellers exploring the Philippines, PAL remains a trusted partner, providing a seamless and enjoyable journey.
