PH restaurant chain Brothers Burger opens first Australian store in Sydney

The border restrictions and limitations for travel have created an innate desire to be reminded of home. For Filipinos, that includes sharing a table with friends, family, and good food. Home-grown Restaurant Chain Brothers Burger brings these memories back to the Filipino community after it officially opened its first Australian store in Penrith, NSW on 4 December 2021.

Part owners of Brothers Burger Australia, Edmund and Chriselle

For 22 years, three brothers – DJ, Martin, and Chef Quito – have been curating gourmet burgers in the Philippines. A novel idea back in 1999, Chef Quito pioneered the hand-crafted flame-grilled gourmet burger featuring multiple blends such as blue cheese, cream cheese, and garlic toppings. This “sensory overload”, as they described it, is topped on a unique blend of meat, spices, and smoky flavour.

The Classic Brothers Burger comes with their signature flame-grilled patty, topped with fresh lettuce and tomatoes, sliced cheese, buttery oatmeal buns, and homemade mayonnaise and ketchup. A no-frills burger centred on the star of the meal: the meat. Other customer favourites are the Blues Brothers, Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Lamb Burger and the Chori Burger. These are all available in three different sizes: 1/3 pound, 2/3 pound, and 1 pound (most rightly called the “Boss Burger”).

The classic taste of 22 years

The brothers hope that Filipinos would reminisce their first bite of the classic burgers. While new customers would share a unique “look” when each freshly curated flavour blends together in their mouth. That then begins the budding Filipino presence in the burger industry worldwide.

Starting in a humble space in Ortigas, it has expanded to multiple key cities across the Philippines. It is now in the works of opening a flagship international store in Sydney.

Brothers Burger will offer its classic burgers, along with chicken wings, homemade hotdogs, quesadillas, and lettuce wraps sometime in November this year in Penrith. The brothers believe Penrith provides the right mix of suburban vibe aligned with their brand.
