Philippine Alumni Extravaganza to Feature Sports and Social Events in October

A series of gatherings for Filipino university alumni in Australia will be held throughout October 2025, as part of the Philippine Alumni Extravaganza hosted by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association of Australia – New South Wales Chapter (UPAAA-NSW).

The annual event coincides with UPAAA-NSW’s 45th anniversary and carries the theme “One Community, Building Futures Together.” According to the organisers, the initiative aims to connect alumni from different institutions while raising funds to support scholarship and outreach projects in both Australia and the Philippines.

Other participating alumni associations include those representing Ateneo University, Mapua University, St. Louis University, and the University of Santo Tomas (UST).

Sports and Fellowship Events

The month’s activities opened with the Golf Challenge on 6 October at Riverside Oaks Golf Resort in Cattai, NSW. The event was co-organised by UPAAA-NSW and the Ateneo Alumni Association of Australia (AAAA).

Next is the Bowling Challenge on 19 October at Tenpin City in Lidcombe, hosted by the UST Alumni Australia (USTAA).

The event will culminate with the Grand Soirée on 25 October at the Ambassador Room, West HQ, Rooty Hill, NSW. The evening will include live entertainment and opportunities for alumni from different generations to reconnect.

Raffle prizes include Philippine Airlines return tickets to the Philippines and a two-night stay at a Megaworld hotel in Newport City, Manila. The organisers said the soirée is open to anyone who wishes to represent their school, whether or not they belong to an official alumni association.
