Christmas came early this year when Pipeline Ministries International held what will now be their regular Christmas in July fundraiser at Grand Star receptions on 25 July 2015. The weather was suitably cool, with a snow machine at the main entrance adding to the winter chill.
Inside the foyer, the 130 guests were greeted with Christmas trees and other Christmas decorations, kindly donated by Williams Landing Shopping Centre with Christmas carols being played by a young man on his electric guitar.
When the main doors opened, more decorations added to the festive spirit with a young lady singing Christmas carols. The emcees, Chito Javier and Ryan Perdio made it clear from the very beginning that even though everyone was there to have a fun evening with singing and dancing, the reason for the evening was to raise funds to change the lives of children in the Philippines. With help from the major sponsor Megaworld and several other sponsors, the evening raised in excess of $3,000, all of which will be used to increase the number of kids receiving an education.
Pipeline’s Chairperson, Mr Roger Vistarini spoke about their various activities in the Philippines, focusing on child feeding and education. For further information about Pipeline, refer to http://www.pipeline.org.au Pipeline hopes to send $100,000 to the Philippines this financial year, double their support for the past 12 months.
During the evening, guests could purchase a Christmas bon-bon for a chance to win a return trip to Manila courtesy of Philippine Tours. Even though there was only one trip to win, every bon-bon purchaser won a prize. With carols being sung by special guest Sheralyn May Hill and Alyssa Limbo, a fine meal being served and plenty of time for dancing, the evening was very enjoyable for all. Many guests stated they were looking forward to Pipeline’s Christmas in July next year.
