Steamy Winter night with Bily Crawford and special guest Denise Laurel

Billy Crawford concertBy SHERILYN RAMON

Liz Honey Promotions has been bringing us local talents for years. Now together with EMG Enterprises, they brought musician and actor Billy Crawford together with actress Denise Laurel in a show entitled Steamy Winter Night.

Billy started his career as a child star in the popular teen talent show “That’s Entertainment” in the 80’s and has since carved a name for himself in Europe as an R&B singer with hits such as “Trackin”, “Steamy Nights” and “Bright Lights”. He performed a medley of songs, which were mostly covers, from his new album as well as some of his old hits. Billy proved himself to be a total entertainer by not just singing and dancing but by sharing jokes and interacting with the audience. Whereas, special guest Denise Laurel also held her own during the show singing popular songs from Lady Gaga as well as some selected Broadway hits.

The show also featured local young Fil-Aussie talents as opening acts such as Karen Esco, who currently has her single “I’m Comin’ Up” available on iTunes; Vanessa Cox, an 11 year old singer who was on the Top 100 of Australia’s Got Talent; Charlene Soleto first runner-up on FilOz Idol ’08; Dennis a Gospel and R&B singer; Marque Benedicto who does R&B as well and was emceed by MC Young Philly who wowed the audience with his five word challenge.
