April 14, 2016 (Quezon City, Philippines)ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel (TFC) is setting the stage for the worldwide airing of the 53rd Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night happening on April 17 at the Araneta Center in Quezon City and which will be beamed across the premier network’s platforms worldwide.

After homegrown Kapamilya Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach won the most-coveted crown in the universe in December, the anticipation is highest for the next Filipina beauty and brains who will represent the country in this year’s Miss Universe pageant, usually held in December.

Forty beautiful and bright candidates who emerged from rigorous training in January and representing the 14 regions of the country will compete for the Philippines’ much-coveted crown of the Binibining Pilipinas in the pageant dubbed “Celebration. The Best Party Ever.”

This year’s exciting roster is composed of local pageant winners, graduates from top schools of the country, artists, sports and fashion enthusiasts, and working professionals who are trying to create names of their own in their respective fields.

The ladies will vie for the following titles: Miss Universe Philippines; Binibining Pilipinas – International; Binibining Pilipinas – Intercontinental; Binibining Pilipinas – Supranational; Binibining Pilipinas -Grand International and Binibining Pilipinas – Globe.

The standards are higher and the pressure is even greater as Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is set to come home to crown the next title holder.

Aside from Pia, her fellow 2016 winners have also made their own marks in their respective titles: Anne Colis won the Miss Globe 2015 title; Parul Shah bagged Miss Grand International 2015 3rd Runner-up; Christy McGarry won Miss Intercontinental 2015 1st Runner-up; Rogelie Catacutan bested other hopefuls as Miss Supranational 2015 semifinalist; and Janicel Lubinamade to the Top 10 of the Miss International pageant, and was awarded Best Dresser.

The 53rd Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night: Celebration. The Best Part Ever” will be hosted by Xian Lim and KC Concepcion, with former Binibining Pilipinas winners Kris Tiffany Janson, Bianca Guidotti and Laura Lehmann.
