Now on its 4th year, the Halo-Halo Festival will be held on 11 November 2017 at St Brigid’s Hall in Fitzroy North, Victoria from 11am to 10pm.
Halo-Halo Festival is a festival of voices that is participated in by talented Filipino-Australian artists. This year, the Festival will feature original compositions by Filo singer-songwriters as well as covers of original Pilipino music (OPM) by amateur and professional performers.
The Festival program has been organised into different categories. There will be separate acts for kids, teens, adults, seniors and groups.
Every year, the Halo-Halo Festival experiments with a new concept or format. This year is no different. Aside from musical performances, attendees will be able to enjoy Filipino food that will be available for sale at the venue from 11am to 10pm.
Festival goers will also have a chance to network with friends and businesses that have agreed to sponsor this year’s event.
There will also be an anticipated Sunday Mass for Catholics at 5.30pm.
The Festival will culminate with two hours of uninterrupted public dancing accompanied by a live band.
The event is organised by Sandok Production in cooperation with The Australian Filipino Heritage Foundation Inc (Pamana Australia) and with the support of sponsors.
Any Filo band, choir, group or individual singer who would like to take part as performer can contact Chito Javier on 0414 061 777. Non-Filos who can sing a Filipino song are encouraged to join.
Businesses who are interested to promote their products or services and food sellers may contact Susan Rodriguez on 0415 512 108, Josie Elano on 0417 125 749 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
All business activities and food for sale will be displayed inside the hall for the duration of the event.
