Palace thanks Congress for pro-poor efforts

Despite the non-ratification of the Freedom of Information (FoI) bill, Malacañang thanked the 14th Congress on Saturday for helping out the outgoing Arroyo administration in carrying out its pro-poor legacy programs and projects.

Deputy Presidential Spokesperson and Press Undersecretary Rogelio Peyuan expressed the Arroyo government’s gratitude to the members of the House of Representatives for pushing Ms. Arroyo-backed legislative measures in the Lower House.

“I may say that there were so many times that the House of Representatives served as the administration’s effective partner in implementing the priority pieces of legislation. We thank the members of the Lower House,” he told government-run DzRB.
