“Vox Populi, Vox Dei”

The title is an old-time living proverb which means; “the voice of the people is the voice of God”.

In a legitimate democracy the power of government emanates and resides in the people, and we as people are, without question, God’s creation that we are but proud to call ourselves people of God. In this context, whoever leads the government of the people, by the people and for the people is undoubtedly God’s choice.

In Romans, 13:1, it says: “Let every person subordinate to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been established by God”.

In a matter of days Australia decides who will lead the country towards prosperity and peace amidst multifarious challenges brought about by man and the environment. Come 21 August 2010, an exodus of qualified voters, natural Australians and Australian migrants, will have to trek to the polls to express and voice out their minds through the ballot. To vote is not only an obligation but a sacred duty for every citizen to do for his country, people and God. In the process of establishing an effective and good governance that can truly deliver the goods to the constituents the electorate should not lost sight by just being confined to the candidate’s appearance, intelligence and credentials, but what is equally important is the integrity and morality of the person should be beyond reproach for it is said that; “a public office is a public trust”.
