12 Year Old Filipino Surpasses Guinness Record for Visiting All Countries in Europe

Lviv, Ukraine — At just 12 years old, Wyatt Maktrav Bedural from San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines, has officially become the youngest Filipino — and the youngest person in the world — to visit all United Nations-recognised countries in Europe, completing the feat on 12 July 2025, when he crossed the Ukrainian border from Poland en route to Lviv.

The achievement has been verified by the global travel community of Filipino World Travelers (FWT) and international travel verification authority NomadMania, and it surpasses the Guinness World Record previously held by Norwegian twins Sander and Mathias Rolen, who completed the feat at 17 years old in October 2023.

Over the past month, the mother-son duo journeyed through the final three countries on their European list — Belarus, Russia, and finally Ukraine — carefully navigating the complexities of visa requirements, border protocols, and the realities of traveling through areas currently experiencing geopolitical conflicts.

Wyatt’s accomplishment is even more remarkable considering he travels exclusively on a Filipino passport. He is accompanied and homeschooled by his mother, Kaila de los Reyes, who plays an integral role in planning and supporting his journeys.

Born in late July 2012, Wyatt’s second name, Maktrav, was inspired by Mt. Makiling Traverse, a beloved mountain trail in the Philippines — a tribute to his roots in mountaineering. He scaled Mount Apo, the highest peak in the Philippines, at just 1 year and 11 months old. By the time he was a toddler, he had already climbed 38 mountains. His international adventures began at the age of four when he went hiking at Mt. Fansipan in Vietnam.

Now, at age 12, Wyatt has transformed his early love for mountains into a passion for global exploration. With 110 countries and territories — including 98 UN member states — already under his belt, Wyatt sets his sights on his next great challenge: stepping foot on Antarctica, his seventh and final continent.

Wyatt and his mother are proud to represent the Philippines on the world stage, showing what is possible with determination, curiosity, and resourcefulness. For this extraordinary feat, Wyatt and Kaila have been bestowed the title of FWT Ambassadors — the highest distinction awarded to members of the global community of Filipino World Travelers (FWT). They now join Kach Medina Umandap, the youngest Filipino to travel to every country in the world, in holding this prestigious honor.
