Adelaide, SA – The Adelaide Choral Ambassadors (ACA), a Filipino-Australian community choir, has earned a Gold Award at the 33rd Australian International Music Festival held in Warrane (Sydney). Their performance, which included a set at the Sydney Opera House, was praised for its musical precision and heartfelt storytelling.
The Australian International Music Festival, presented by World Projects South Pacific, brings together choirs, bands, and orchestras from around the world. Groups are evaluated by an international panel and awarded based on their overall performance. ACA’s Gold standing reflects both their technical skill and artistic expression.

This latest recognition follows their earlier achievement at the World Choir Games 2024 in Auckland, New Zealand, where they also brought home Gold in the Open Mixed Chamber Choirs category, representing Australia on the global stage.
ACA was formed in March 2023 by passionate music advocates Cess Galicia, Gil Costes, Larry Parane, and conductor Ron Abelita. The group is made up of Filipino-Australian singers who perform Original Pilipino Music (OPM) in a cappella choral style, blending cultural heritage with musical excellence. They are also a member of the Australian National Choral Association (ANCA).
The choir is now preparing for their upcoming concert, Resonance: Songs Beyond Time, to be held at Adelaide Town Hall on Sunday, 21 September 2025 at 5:00 PM. Audiences can expect an evening of timeless music that transcends generations and cultures.
