Applications Now Open for 2024 Study Melbourne’s Inclusion Grants

Vital Support for International Students

The Victorian Government has officially opened applications for the 2024 Study Melbourne Inclusion Program (SMIP). This initiative, which is a significant part of Victoria’s International Education Recovery Plan 2025, is currently inviting partnerships of two or more organizations to apply for grants of up to $75,000. These grants are designed to enrich the experiences of international students, aiming to ensure their academic journey in Victoria is both positive and enriching.

A Collaborative Approach to Education

The SMIP stands as a testament to collaborative effort, providing substantial financial support for projects that enhance the wellbeing and experiences of international students in Victoria. With a focus on partnerships, the program encourages organizations to work together in creating initiatives that foster inclusivity and support within the student community.

Enhancing Student Wellbeing

Activities funded by SMIP range from mental health support to community engagement, with a particular encouragement for projects that promote the inclusion of diverse groups such as women, LGBTQIA+ communities, people of colour, people with disabilities, and individuals from various socio-economic backgrounds. The program underscores the importance of a holistic approach to the international student experience, going beyond academics to include health, safety, and cultural engagement.
