“Australiaverse”

Vegemite, kangaroo, emu, koala,
Meat pie, lamington, timtam, pavlova,
Poisonous spiders, snakes, and great white sharks.

These are a few of Australian things.

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and what? Perth
Sydney harbour bridge and Opera house,
Great Barrier Reef, desert, outback, the bush.

These are a few of Australian things.

Kylie Minogue and Olivia Newton-John,
Hugh Jackman, didgeridoo, boxed wines, thongs,
Cadbury, Aboriginals, Qantas

these are a few of Australian things.

It is no wonder we love this country
We consider ourselves very lucky
We can’t help but stay and be happy.

We are proud to be multicultural,
Even broken English, we bilingual,
We contribute our knowledge, skills, et al.

Let’s celebrate in many diff’rent ways
And let us all raise our voices and say
All together, Happy Australia Day!
