Sydney, Australia– Cebu Pacific launched last 9 September 2014 its most affordable flight ever between Sydney and Manila, marking the entry of the Philippines’ largest carrier into the Australian market.
Opening up 34 domestic Philippines destinations as well as 25 onward connections throughout Asia and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific will now fly four times weekly between Sydney Airport and Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Manila Terminal 3) – increasing to five times weekly from 10 December 2014.
Since going on sale in June 2014 the lowest one-way fares from Sydney to Manila have started from AU$99 inclusive of taxes, with the year-round all-inclusive fares from Sydney to Manila starting at AU$335.
Commenting on the maiden flight, Alex Reyes, General Manager, Long-Haul Division for Cebu Pacific Air says: “We’ve been very pleased by the interest from Australian-based travellers in the route so far, and expect it to only increase once the word gets out about the fantastic destinations and fun travel opportunities the Philippines has to offer.
“We’re opening up the Philippines to travellers from Australia, with island destinations and beaches that beat Bali and Phuket. Operating from the newest terminal at Manila Airport, Cebu Pacific customers won’t need to change terminals after arriving from Sydney to reach all the fantastic onward locations throughout the Philippines.”
As a low cost carrier, Cebu Pacific looks to keep fares as affordable as possible with bookings taken online and regular seat sales. Web check-in opens 48 hours before flights depart and hot meals, baggage allowance, seat selection and CEB Air Wi-Fi connectivity may be purchased for long-haul flights.
Cebu Pacific also provides a lower cost alternative for travellers heading to northern Asia, with flight times from Manila to Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo being two or three hours less than Kuala Lumpur connections.
Serviced by brand-new Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a configuration of 436 all-economy class seats, the Sydney-Manila flight time is approximately eight hours and will depart every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. A Wednesday frequency will be added in December.
