Celebrating Five Years of Plaridel Lodge: Installation of New Officers

As the calendar turns, Freemason Victoria Plaridel Lodge No. 1893 proudly commemorates its fifth anniversary, marking a significant chapter in its journey in the installation of its new Worshipful Master and its officer for this ensuing year.

Founded in September 2019, Plaridel Lodge is the 1st Filipino Freemason Lodge under the jurisdiction of the United Gand Lodge of Victoria. It has blossomed into a cornerstone of the Freemason and local community, dedicated to the principles of integrity, charity, and brotherhood. In just five years, the lodge has fostered a strong number of brethren who share a commitment to personal growth for the betterment of the community.

In a ceremony filled with tradition, Plaridel Lodge recently held its annual installation of officers, marking a significant event in the lodge’s calendar. The gathering brought together members, families, and distinguished guests to witness the transfer of leadership and reaffirm the lodge’s commitment to its foundational principles of the United Grand Lodge of Victoria (UGLV).

The installation ceremony took place on the 5 Oct 2024, in The Bayside Masonic Centre, adorned with elegant decorations and masonic memorabilia, that radiates with a masonic atmosphere complemented by a warmth reception of fellowship. 

The highlight of the evening was the installation of the newest Worshipful Master, Michael Efren Manlapaz and his officers, led by the installing Master, Most Worshipful Past Grand Master Don Reynolds, PGM who delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the importance of leadership, integrity, and service to the community.

As the new officers took their oaths, they pledged to uphold the values of the lodge, promoting brotherhood, charity, and benevolence. The incoming Worshipful Master, Michael Efren Manlapaz, expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and shared his vision for the upcoming year, focusing on initiatives aimed at enhancing member engagement and expanding community outreach in the Australian communities and The Philippines. He outlined his plans for the year by focusing on supporting charity work in the Australian community and supporting the Freemason Victoria charity work.

The ceremony also served as an opportunity for fellowship among members and guests. After the open installation, attendees enjoyed a festive reception featuring delightful Filipino cuisine and beverages catered by Soul Fusion House, exquisitely crafted delicious cake by Just BKD and a live musical performance by the ALPA Band with Ms. Maya Gomez. 

The Grand Master, Most Worshipful Anthony Bucca, along with his team, honoured the banquet with a live performance of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, featuring WBro Warren Ribates on guitar. This gathering not only celebrated the new leadership but also strengthened the bonds of brotherhood and friendship among the members and their families.

As Plaridel Lodge embarks on a new year under the guidance of its newly installed officers, the lodge remains committed to its mission of fostering a supportive community. Upcoming events will include Wilsom Promontory National Park camping, Past Master & Ladies night, Western District lodge sports fest and various fundraising events in supporting charity work, and the youth of DeMolay Victoria, inviting Plaridelians and the community to participate in the lodge’s activities.

The installation of officers at Plaridel Lodge marks not just a change in leadership, but a renewal of the lodge’s dedication to the principles and values of Freemason Victoria. As they move forward together, the lodge looks forward to another year of growth, service, and brotherhood.
