Sydney-based professional web producer Jade Cadelina shares photos of the wreath laying ceremony to celebrate the 153rd Birth Anniversary of Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

The ceremony was held last 19 June 2014 at the Ibero American Plaza, Chalmers St, Surry Hills NSW. The bust of Dr Jose Rizal stands at the plaza where other memorial busts of Hispanic-American heroes are also installed.

The event was attended by members of the Knights of Rizal Sydney and PCC-NSW officers.

The ceremony was headed by Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis and Consul Sir Marford Angeles KR. Other Philippine consular officers and other members of the community also attended the event.

Two other ceremonies were held to observe Rizal’s birthday. One was at the Rizal Park in Rosemeadow Campbelltown where a 5.0 metre statue of Dr Jose Rizal stands. The third celebration was at Ashfield Park in Sydney’s innerwest.
