Loboc Children’s Choir

Founded in 1980, the Loboc Children’s Choir comprises 24 children between the ages of nine and 13 who attend Loboc Central Elementary School. The Choir has become one of the most awarded choirs in the Philippines garnering both national and international awards. Its concert repertoire is a combination of classical, folk, modern and children’s songs.

The Loboc Children’s Choir toured Australia in 2015 and raised awareness on the devastation caused by an earthquake in Bohol and funds for Bohol’s rehabilitation and rebuilding efforts.

This year, the Philippine Embassy is once again inviting the Loboc Children’s Choir for an Australian tour following the highly successful tour in 2015. The three-city tour (Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne) is envisioned to be the main event for the Embassy’s Independence Day celebrations in Australia. The Embassy is aiming to:

  • Promote Filipino world-class talent in Australia in celebrating Philippine Independence;
  • Promote Philippine tourism particularly to Bohol, one of the priority destinations of the Department of Tourism;
  • Institutionalize socio-cultural linkages and exchanges between Philippine and Australian primary schools.
