Filipino-Australian marriage celebrant Mabelle Mercado makes dream weddings come true

Weddings are celebrated all around the world and each culture has its unique way of conducting a ceremony. Filipino-Australian Mabelle Mercado is a registered marriage celebrant who aims to ensure every couple has their dream wedding.

Mercado had always been fascinated by the idea of weddings along with different types of wedding ceremonies. She has attended weddings of various cultures from Indian, Greek, Italian, Chinese, Cambodian, Timorese, Malaysian to Filipino weddings. “Each wedding has its character and definition and it amazes me how different cultures and traditions speak so much of the couple,” she said.

Mercado is an empath who listens attentively to the vows said by the bride and groom taking interest in how each couple expresses their vows toward each other.

Understanding how sacred a marriage ceremony is, Mercado enjoys planning and organising weddings and engagements.

She states that she feels a sense of honour and privilege any time a family member, friend or workmate requests her assistance in planning an event.  “For me, planning a happy occasion comes from the heart, you have to give it your best shot,” she said. It was through these requests that Mercado thought of studying Celebrancy so she can help more people plan their weddings and other significant milestones.

She also wants to help the Filipino community to understand the process of getting married in Australia. She assists them by providing a step-by-step guide on planning their ceremony while being there throughout the whole process. “My goal is to promote marriage as an imperative relationship for families and society,” she said.

Mercado loves weddings and hearing different stories of love inspires her script for each wedding ceremony.
