FAFQ Inc celebrates 25th anniversary

The Filipino-Australian Foundation of Queensland Inc (FAFQ Inc), on 4 December, celebrated its 25th year of community service over a gala evening event which saw some 110 attendees, including the Philippine Honorary Consul General in Brisbane, Hon. Consul General Margaret Grummitt and some local members of parliament and guest speakers.

Based in Coopers Plains,FAFQ Inc is a not-for-profit charitable organisation entirely founded and operating through selfless dedication and community spirit through volunteerism.

During the evening, speeches were delivered highlighting the organisation’s achievements through its commitments and assistance in local and international programs. This included its FAFQ Inc Scholarships Fund, which has provided scholarships to students domestically in regional Australia and the Philippines.

The evening ended with live music from the Filipino-Australian band Fire and Rain, which brought a crowd of attendees together to dance and celebrate the organisation’s milestone, with smiles all around.
