Felix Pintado is Victoria’s new Philippine Honorary Consul

Philippine Ambassador to Australia Belen Anota administered the oath of office to Adjunct Associate Professor Felix J. Pintado, the new Philippine Honorary Consul of Victoria last 22 September 2014 at the Philippine Embassy in Canberra. Pintado will replace the former Consul General Gigi Kalong who will now focus on her business.

Felix was born in Malate, Metro Manila, in the Philippines. His family lived in Makati City, and often stayed with family and relatives in Bais City for holidays. Of Spanish heritage, his father was born in Manila and his mother in Negros Oriental. The eldest son of eight children, Felix’s primary and early secondary education was at La Salle Green Hills in Mandaluyong City.

Felix lived in the Philippines until 1972 when his immediate family migrated to Sydney, Australia. A large number of Felix’s extended family, with whom he maintains regular contact, continue to live in the Philippines and have also spread to parts of Spain and the United States. Felix came to live Melbourne in 1978 to pursue his studies.

Felix holds a Master of Health Administration and a Graduate Diploma in Health Services Management from RMIT University, a Graduate Diploma in Education from Monash University and a Bachelor of Theology from the College of Divinity, University of Melbourne. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. He is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Felix is the Chief Executive of Royal Freemasons Ltd, one of Victoria’s most respected and longstanding aged care providers, specialising in home care, independent and retirement living, transition care, wellness services and residential aged care.
