Filipino Community in Melbourne Marks 126th Philippine Independence Day with Flag-Raising Ceremony

On June 12, members of the Filipino community in Melbourne gathered at Federation Square to celebrate the 126th Philippine Independence Day with a flag-raising ceremony.

The event began with the Entry of Colors, led by members of Katipunan Australia, Inc., followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, “Lupang Hinirang,” and the recital of “Panatang Makabayan.” These parts of the program were led by Imelda McLean, President of the Kababaihang Rizalista, Inc. Melbourne Chapter.
