Filipino food on centre stage

A Filipino Food Festival ‘Taste of Pinoy Flavours’ was hosted by the Philippine Consulate General Melbourne and Stamford Plaza Hotel last 4 June. Around 100 people from the Filipino community came to enjoy the buffet within Stamford’s Private Function Room, which featured popular Filipino dishes sinigang, chicken adobo, lechon kawali, beef kare kare, pancit canton, and Pinoy-style spaghetti. Desserts on offer included leche flan and buko pandan

Consul General Maria Lourdes Salcedo welcomed special guests Kuncoro Giri Waseco, Consul General of Indonesia; Nik Muhammad Nasyron Syah bin Nik Daud, Consul General of Malaysia; and Andrew Mendelawitz, Consul of Guatemala.

The event forms part of the series of 125 Philippine Independence Day events in Melbourne.
