Filipino Mother of Four Tragically Killed in Bendigo, Suspect Arrested

In a harrowing incident that unfolded just before midnight on Sunday, 46-year-old mother of four, Logee Osias, was found unresponsive in her residence on High St, Kangaroo Flat, Bendigo. Following reports of an injured woman, authorities arrived at the scene and rushed Ms. Osias to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Community Reaction

The tragedy has left the community in a state of shock and grief, particularly affecting those who knew Ms. Osias as a warm, kindhearted soul, a devoted mother, and a dependable friend. She was known for her strong character and her ability to see the good in everyone.

Investigation and Arrest

Post incident, a 44-year-old Junortoun man was apprehended near a reservoir area in Harcourt North, about 20 kilometers away from the Kangaroo Flat home. The suspect, believed to be acquainted with Ms. Osias, is currently assisting police with their inquiries. The residence has been cordoned off as a crime scene with homicide detectives and major crime scene officers leading the investigation.

Emotional Toll on Family

Adding to the poignancy of the event, close friends revealed that Ms. Osias’ 8-year-old daughter had to make the distressing call to 000 after witnessing the fatal incident.

Community Support

In a show of solidarity and support, the Bendigo Filipino Foundation Inc. is organizing a prayer vigil for Ms. Osias on Tuesday, 31st of October at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 44 Russell St, Quarry Hill Vic 3550. The mass will commence at 6:00 PM, followed by a prayer vigil, providing an avenue for the community to come together and mourn the tragic loss.
