Filipino radio program award

The Filipino Radio Program over at Gippsland FM 104.7 has been on air for 21 years. Started in June by Gina Agustin as coordinator for the Filipino Radio Program in June 1998, the program now airs every Friday, 7.30-9.30pm. It also has a simulcast broadcasting over YouTube Channel Barkadahan4EverFM. The program airs Original Pilipino Music (OPM), and broadcasts Filipino news and current affairs.

Gippsland FM is a non-profit, volunteer-run organisation which aims to provide an alternative radio service for the local community; complementing and supplementing the national and commercial radio networks.

In 2018, Gina received from Gawad Amerika the Most Outstanding Online TV and Radio Broadcaster and was the only Filipino-Australian to be nominated for that award. With this honour, she enthused, “I am proud because I was able to carry my local community radio of Gippsland FM to be recognised worldwide… This honour has motivated me to continue to push forward to share my passion, and experience and I will continue to do my best for my community.”
