The celebration in Melbourne started with the official flag raising ceremony and People’s March, a luncheon, events in Kings Domain and Alexandra Gardens and activities at Docklands.

Australia Day 2013 had for its theme, ‘Thank you Australia – lets say thanks for our way of life.’ The celebration focused on showcasing what people love about Australia.

The parade of nations featured participants wearing their traditional dress and costumes. Migrants from Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Philippines, India, Italy, Thailand, Pakistan and other countries displayed a snippet of their culture through songs, dances, costumes, and acts.
