Getting to know the new President and Vice-President of the Philippines

The Philippines is now finally in the hands of new leaders: President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo. Despite all the controversies surrounding these two personalities, Filipinos have still elected them to the highest seats of the Government–with hopes that Duterte and Robredo are the answers to woes of the marginalized.

The Duterte-Robredo administration is a pair of opposites, with Duterte being the aggressive one while Robredo is the nurturing half. Because of this, people would argue that their match-up is ideal as they seem to balance each other. Though they are very different in many ways, both of them claim to target the same goal: making the country a better place to live in.
