Grand Gala Night to Mark the 10th Year of Bendigo Filipino Foundation, Inc.

Established in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Haiyan’s devastation in the Visayas Islands on 7 November 2013, the Bendigo Filipino Foundation, Inc. (BFFI) emerged from the unified response of Bendigo’s Filipino community to the tragedy. A decade later, BFFI stands as a leading socio-civic organisation, championing fundraising initiatives and addressing pressing concerns both in Australia and the Philippines.

To celebrate a remarkable “Decade of Service, Unity, and Vibrancy,” BFFI is delighted to host a grand gala night on 4 November 2023. This milestone event will be held at the Silks Events and Functions, located at Apiam Bendigo Racecourse on Heinz St, Bendigo. Attendees are invited to don formal attire, and the traditional Filipino “Filipiniana” and “barong” are especially encouraged. A ticket priced at $95 promises guests a delightful 3-course meal and entertainment by Roxx Mixx Duo.

BFFI takes this occasion to acknowledge its invaluable partner organisations: Bendigo Basketball League, Filipino Campers, and the Cultural Dancers. Their continued collaboration exemplifies the spirit of unity in Bendigo’s multicultural community and contributes immensely to BFFI’s impactful journey.

Besides fundraising, BFFI ardently promotes Filipino culture through signature events like the biennial Bendigo Filipino Fiesta and participation in the annual Bendigo Easter Parade. Future endeavours include the launch of the BFFI website, establishing administrative and storage spaces, showcasing Filipino heritage through art and fashion exhibitions, undertaking sustainable projects in the Philippines, and providing outreach services in collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne.
