Historic PropertyGuru Awards Celebrate Australia’s Top Real Estate

The Awards programme’s first gala celebration in Melbourne honours impressive companies and projects, including specialists in cross-border investment

Melbourne, Australia — On Friday, 13 October, PropertyGuru Group (NYSE: PGRU) unveiled the winners and highly commended recipients of the 6th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) in a grand gala celebration held for the first time at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne. The event, sponsored by Subzero Wolf and partnered by Realestate.com.au among others, honoured exceptional companies and projects across 42 categories, emphasizing specialists in cross-border investment.

This inaugural ceremony in the Victorian capital witnessed Australia’s premier developers and projects being recognized in the largest edition yet of the awards programme. Aqualand emerged as the star of the night, clinching 13 accolades including the titles of Best Developer, Best Luxury Developer, and Best Mixed-Use Developer. Their project Aura bagged six awards, notably the Best Mixed Use Development award.

Other notable developments by Aqualand include the luxury heritage and waterfront apartment development known as The Revy at Darling Island and the luxury apartment venture in New South Wales titled Blue at Lavender Bay.

Shangjin Lin, founder and group managing director of Aqualand, was honoured as Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year by the editorial team of Property Report by PropertyGuru for spearheading some of Australia’s largest urban renewal projects.

Salvo won the Best Lifestyle Developer title, along with a win for their high-rise apartment project, Moray House. Skyland Group also bagged two awards, including the Best Luxury Boutique Developer title and a win for Villia Bellevue Hill, a boutique luxury apartment development in New South Wales.

Luisant Queensberry Pty Ltd. was awarded the Best Breakthrough Developer title, one of four wins that included accolades for the company’s townhouse project on Queensberry St. MRCB International was named Best Boutique Developer, with their 26 Vista by MRCB Australia project winning Best Lifestyle Development (Queensland).

Mark Moran Group received Special Recognitions in ESG and Sustainable Design and Construction, alongside the Best Senior Living Landscape Design award for The Garden at Warrawee by Evette Moran.

The Best Condo Development (Australia) award was presented to Kurraba Residences by Third.i Group, while the Best Housing Development (Australia) award was clinched by Capri by Monaco Property Group.

Highett Common by Sunkin Property Group earned three awards, including Best Apartment Development (Victoria).

Jeremy Williams, managing director, Marketplaces, PropertyGuru Group, expressed pride in hosting the largest edition of their Awards in Australia this year. He lauded the honored companies for impressing the judges with a diverse range of offerings including premium apartments, housing, townhouses, smart homes, student accommodations, and senior living spaces, which elevate the standard of real estate in Australia and assist both local and international investors in making informed property decisions in the country.

Jules Kay, GM of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events, voiced delight in hosting the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards in Melbourne for the first time. He praised the awarded companies for conceptualizing and creating a variety of impressive properties that provide a wide array of appealing opportunities for cross-border investors, reflecting the continuous growth and innovation propelling the Australian property market forward.

The winners were determined by an independent panel of judges comprising of industry experts and supervised by HLB Mann Judd – HLB Australasia under the guidance of Josh Chye, ensuring a fair, transparent, and credible selection process.

The main country winners of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia) will advance to compete in the 18th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final on Friday, 8 December in Bangkok, Thailand against their counterparts from various Asian countries.
