INC Volunteers Lead Clean-Up Effort at Berwick

On Sunday, February 18, 2024, members of the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo), under their INC Giving project, organized a clean-up drive at the Brentwood Park Neighbourhood House and Community Centre in Berwick, Victoria. This initiative is among several efforts by the church to engage in voluntary community service, give back and contribute positively to local areas.

The event commenced at 10 a.m., with volunteers being welcomed with free pancakes and coffee. Safety was a top priority, with organizers providing detailed instructions and ensuring that first aid was easily accessible. The clean-up focused on clearing the aftermath of a recent heavy storm, which had left pathways and playground areas in the park cluttered with debris, including branches and leaves.

Armed with the necessary cleaning tools, the volunteers worked in groups to remove litter and storm debris, significantly improving the park’s condition. The activity was aimed at beautifying the park, making it safer and more welcoming for the community.

One of the volunteers expressed their motivation, stating, “Being part of the INC Giving project means contributing to our community’s welfare in meaningful ways.”
